Testimonials

“Ryan Leach is a consumate professional and a real joy in collaboration. He masterfully tackled our needs for our “demon noir thriller” – no easy task – maintaining a steady temperament and constant communication. Ryan was able to intuit our needs and deliver on-time and on-budget. We would, and plan to, work with Ryan on all our future projects.”
-Brian Lubocki and Michael Hayes, Writer/Producers of Fire City

“Ryan is a true talent. His skill as a musician and ear for understanding simultaneously what the audience needs and what the director wants is unparalleled. Collaborating with Ryan feeds my process as a director as his score makes me reexamine the intent of a scene and the tone of a film… Far too often I’ve been in the position of receiving cues from composers that tell me what’s already apparent; Ryan is unique in that he very quickly identifies what is needed most in a score – honesty and emotion. Its been a joy working with Ryan on PROJECT ARBITER and I look forward to many more opportunities creating together.”
- Michael Chance, Writer/Director of Project Arbiter

“This has been by far the best experience I’ve had working with a composer!
I’m very pleased and excited about the score, thanks for doing such great work and for being so easy to work with.”

-Greg Cahill, Director/Writer of Two Shadows

“Working with Ryan on the score was a thrilling, highly creative, and ultimately very enjoyable experience from beginning to end.”
-Stevan Filipovic, Director of Skinning

“Music is probably the most important, yet least understood, part of a movie. As viewers we like to be moved by a scene, whether we are eased subtly into that scene or thrust into it without warning, music is a major tool the filmmaker uses for such. Ryan understands that tool well. I just completed a dramatic-comedy, or a “dramedy” if you will. Without music, many of the scenes would not have hit our mark. And, I am not talking about “fixing” the scene with music, rather making it, realizing it. There is one in particular that comes to mind. Where the plot of the overall story takes a dramatic, yet humorous turn. The hero’s love interest neighbor thought he might just be a chain saw wielding serial killer. When in fact she discovers that he is in actually a chain saw sculptor. The score Ryan created for this scene is perfect and gently brings the viewer into the same “ah-hah” moment that the neighbor has. Brilliant and bravo!”
